Ken Robinson, Pro Personnel Director In November 2007 Ken Robinson was hired on as a National scout for Team Texas of the All American Football League and had direct input into many of the teams Draft selections.
Ken has been an integral part of the formation of the Indoor Football Scouting Bureau (IFSB)and is the driving force behind its expansion of team services which will include Corporate Sponsorship & season ticket sales assistance for the 2010 season.
As one of the companies founders he oversaw the design and creation of the website ; suggesting innovative features such as an online player database & video uploading features so teams could access profiles and players could market their film thru emails. He also oversaw the player scouting department , handled a bulk of the pro recruiting & player advancement as well as most of the marketing.
Prior to IFSB he was a Canadian Football League scout in 2005 & 2006 with the Ottawa Renegades. Under the tutelage of Renegades Director of Football Development Richard Wade , Robinson played a major role in the Western Region of Coach John Jenkins' scouting machine that saw its scouts attend twenty-eight National Football League training camps in 2005 and compiled over one thousand player report files that have been called cutting edge scouting material. Renegades Vice President/General Manager and NFL Hall of Famer Forrest Gregg has "likened Robinson to a New York stock exchange broker who can quote the facts of virtually hundreds of potential players available" and who "ceaselessly grinds out player leads, scouting reports and stocks the coast to coast workouts with top athletes from his Arizona headquarters. In 2006 Jenkins' open tryouts resulted in 21 players being signed to CFL contracts, including players from such storied NCAA programs as USC, Florida State and Alabama who are loaded with outstanding individual talent.
Previous to his CFL scouting Robinson was the founder of InterNATIONAL FOOTBALL SCOUTING, a football scouting & marketing services company that assists coaches & American football players who have completed their college eligibility with opportunities that exist overseas. InterNATIONAL FOOTBALL SCOUTING has thousands of coaching and scouting contacts all over the world and also contracts with and serves as a US football scout & consultant for many overseas teams wanting information on the top available Free Agent Prospects.
In addition to his experience as a scout, Robinson was an All Conference Wide Receiver and is experienced as a coach ,having helped install the Run & Shoot offense as a gameday strategist
,QB/WR coach for Bound Brook High School in New Jersey and later served as an offensive assistant/LB's coach for Marcos DeNizia High School in Arizona. He was an advance scout for Coach Jim Rattay's Phoenix Christian High School teams that won back to back State Championships in 2004 & 2005.
Robinson has been around or involved with football for most all of his life and credits his early knowledge and passion for the game to his late father, Sid,a four year starter at TE/DE and an All State football player on two High School State Championship teams in South River, NJ who had college scholarship offers in 3 sports including Basketball powers Indiana and Kentucky but he chose to focus on football after college and in 1958 received an invite from Coach Weeb Ewbank to attend a Baltimore Colts mini camp.He later coached future NFL Stars Joe Theismann and Drew Pearson when they were little kids as well as many other youth players who went on to have great High School & College football success during his over 20 years as a Pop Warner coach in the South River & Bound Brook, NJ communities.
Ken began his college scouting with College Prospects of America the largest marketing service for athletes in the world in 1990.They help talented young people from the US and many other countries get the best education at the best possible price, while allowing them to continue to participate in a sport they love. He has contributed to various NFL Draft publications on and off since 1989.
The Indoor Football Scouting Bureau is pro education and as such we will only work to place players with pro football teams if they have either completed their college eligibility or are at least 22 years of age or older.

Mel Gray, CFL & NFL Evaluator The Indoor Football Scouting Bureau is very pleased to announce the additon of Mel Gray to its Executive Staff.
Mel's duties will include Indoor Film evalaution of players that he and IFSB believe have the ability to play at the AFL, CFL, or NFL level but have been overlooked or needed to get more reps.In addition he will help work with some of the Indoor's top flight WR's during IFSB's planned combines after the conclusion of each pro Indoor football Season. Mel is currently also coaching with the McHenry County Gladiators in Illinois.
Mel Gray was a Wide Receiver for the St.Louis Cardinals from 1971-1982. By the time he finished his career with the Cardinals in 1982, Gray's production placed him among the leaders on the club's all-time receiving list with 351 receptions (third) for 6,644 yards (second) with 45 touchdowns (second) and an impressive 18.9-yard career average-per-catch. In addition, he departed the NFL with a streak of 121 consecutive games catching a pass, at the time second in league history to 127 games by Harold Carmichael. Mel attended the University of Missouri with the intention of pursuing his career as a track standout, and squeezing in football as time permits. While in Columbia, Gray was a sprint champion and won seven of nine 100-yard crowns on the Drake-Kansas-Texas relay circuit. He was named the outstanding performer in the 1970 meet with first-place finishes in the 100- and 220-yard dashes, first in the long jump, and added a third place showing in the triple jump to personally account for a record 38 points.
Armed with a 4.3 clocking in the 40-yard dash, Gray authored a brilliant rookie season with the Cardinals as he averaged 24.7 yards on 30 kickoff returns and 29.7 yards receiving with 18 receptions for 534 yards, including long-range scoring plays of 80, 64, 60 and 57 yards. In 1974, "Air Coryell" hit new heights as Hart, Smith, Gray, and running back Terry Metcalf carried the club to a 10-4 record. Gray's team-best 19.7-yard receiving average and six touchdowns helped secure the club's first NFC East title and his first of four consecutive Pro Bowl selections and a pair of all-pro honors. |
John Gregory, CFL/NFL/AFL player evaluator & consultant John Gregory has seen just about everything a coach can see in one sport. His first job in football was back when Lyndon B. Johnson was President of the United States. Since then he has consistently taken over football programs that have struggled before his arrival and led them to success. As an assistant head coach and athletic director at Iowa Central Community College, Gregory was charged with building a football program from the ground up. In just three years, the program had a 24-3-1 record and won the Wool Bowl in ’69. Gregory’s success at Iowa Central CC went on after he left. John Matusak was a Gregory recruit, and he went on to become the number one pick in the 1974 NFL Draft. Gregory got his first college head coaching job at South Dakota State in 1971 and stayed for 10 years. To this day, Gregory is still second in school history in coaching victories and he led the team to a single season best of 9-2 in ’79. SDSU didn’t have a winning record the previous 11 seasons before Gregory’s arrival. After a one year stop as offensive coordinator at his alma mater of Northern Iowa, Gregory went further north to Canada and the Canadian Football League. While in the CFL, Gregory won a CFL championship in ‘84 as the offensive line coach for Winnipeg. Gregory’s offensive line helped the team set a CFL rushing record in ‘84 and Gregory was named CFL Outstanding Offensive Line Coach. Saskatchewan noticed what Winnipeg had, and gave Gregory his first professional head coaching job and he didn’t disappoint. Saskatchewan didn’t have a winning season in the 11 years prior to Gregory’s arrival, and they didn’t win a Grey Cup (CFL Title) in 22 years. In 1989, Gregory led a Saskatchewan team that no one gave much of a chance of winning, and won the Grey Cup championship. In the process, Gregory was named CFL Coach of the Year, and he was elected to the Saskatchewan Hall of Fame in 1996. Gregory went on to coach for Hamilton of the CFL in ’91, making the postseason four of the five years he was with the team before the founder of a new football league came calling. Jim Foster invented Arena Football and needed a coach for a team he was starting in Des Moines, IA. Foster interviewed and hired Gregory to build the Iowa team from scratch. Gregory looked high and low for players; even recruiting a little known quarterback he heard was working at a local grocery store. Gregory gave Kurt Warner a tryout, and the rest is, as they say, history. Gregory coached the Barnstormers to five division titles in six years, led the team to two Arena Bowl title games, and the offense was the one of the most innovative offenses the sport had ever seen. Warner and his processor, Aaron Garcia were recently named as two of the greatest AFL players ever. Gregory earned AFL Coach of the Year honors in ’95 and ’96, the only coach in AFL history to do so, and nearly made it three in a row when he finished second ’97. The Barnstormers relocated to New York in 2000 and Gregory left the team in ’03. After a brief stop at Carolina, Gregory decided to call it a career in coaching. Then Gregory got another call from Jim Foster. Foster told Gregory of a team that is the “Jewel of the af2” and needed his help. The team was successful early on, but had won just 4 of its last 20 games. Along with af2 President Jerry Kurz, and Jack Lankford, Gregory was convinced staying in retirement wasn't the thing to do. Gregory took over the Arkansas Twisters four games into the 2005 season, going 5-7. The final four losses were by a combined score of 19 points, with two games being decided in the last minute of play. Gregory led the Twisters back to the playoffs in 2006.Coach Gregory and longtime friend & colleague, Ray Jauch will host private evaluation camps in Carolia area after the pro indoor season... |
